Barrington Review (Barrington, Illinois)
Thursday September 19, 1918.

The remains of L. H. Higley, a former well known resident, were brought here Wednesday for interment, from his late home in Ravenswood where he passed away Monday.

Mr. Higley was born October 30, 1831, in Brattleboro, Vermont, where he grew to manhood. In the early fifties he came West, locating at Lake Zurich and engaged in the mercantile business. December 4, 1864, he was married to Miss Helen Hawley of this village. A few years later they moved to a farm near here and resided there for some time, coming to a town to live and retired life at their home on Lake Street. Sixteen years ago they moved to Ravenswood, where deceased had endeared himself to the hearts of many friends and neighbors. His matter was genial and kindly toward all, critical to none.

Surviving him are his wife and two daughters, the former ministered to his wants with tenderest devotion until the end.

A brother, Orange Higley, and the last of his family passed away in Vermont two days preceding his brother death.
Married (1) 17 Jun 1858 at Halifax, Windham, VT to Coridelia Harris
Married (2) Ellen Hawley, they had two children
Two children are known
L.D. Higley (b) 1875 ?
