Mrs. Wheeler Veal, aged 85 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sam Farrington, in north Princeton, on Wednesday, October 6, death being caused by ailments incumbent upon old age. Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church Rev. Geer officiating. The interment was at Oak Knoll. Mrs. Veal was born in Ohio on June 9, 1835, and came to Minnesota in 1866. In 1852 she was married to John Eccleberger, who died 13 years later. Two children were born to this union, Asa Eccleberger and Mrs. Delia Applegate, both of whom live in north Princeton. In 1863 she was married to Wheeler Veal and six children were born of this marriage, two of whom survive, namely, Mrs. Sam Farrington and William Veal, both of Princeton. She also leaves 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.

She was the head of five generations. Mrs. Veal was a good motherly woman, a christian in the true sense of the word and a member of the Princeton Methodist church. She leaves many friends in whose memory she will long hold a place of high esteem. Those from out of town in attendance at the funeral were Mrs. Alex. Burke and children and Mrs. B. W. Olson and child of Minneapolis. The family takes this means of thanking the kind neighbors and friends who did so much to help and comfort them during the illness of their beloved mother. -Princeton Union, October 14, 1920
