Ida Farmer
A memorial graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 14, at Fir Grove Cemetery in Cottage Grove for Ida Belle Farmer of Shady Cove, former 40-year resident of Douglas County, who died March 8 of age-related causes. She was 82.
She was born Sept. 14, 1928, in Drain to Albert and Violet Swearingen Leonard.
She grew up and attended school in Drain. She worked as a cook at restaurants.
Survivors include two daughters, Edna Hinds of Medford and Janet Lovel of Salem; a son, Bruce of Forest Grove; two brothers, Merrill Leonard of California and Ron Leonard of Medford; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Her husband, Delmont Farmer, died Oct. 31, 1979, and a son, Mick Farmer, died previously.
