Melvin Jones, a resident of Carson City (Nevada) for the past 13 years, died June 9, 2004. He was born Dec, 21, 1924 to Gilbert and Geniel Bench Jones. He was 79.
Mr. Jones married Arlene Berg on April 10, 1970 in Elko, Nevada.
He was born and raised in Provo, Utah, and retired after 23 years as a cost accountant with the U.S. Forest Service. Mr. Jones was a Seabee in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Among his survivors are his wife of 34 years of Carson City; children: Michelle Jones of Boise, Idaho; sister in law Judy Jones of Georgia; sister Merlene Dunford of San Diego and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation will be in Walton's Sierra Crematory, Waltons's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements. His ashes were buried 5 Apr 2008 in the Provo City Cemetery, next to his parents.
