Betty Lynn Melton Waldrop, 77, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at her home. Betty was a member of First Christian Church in Oak Ridge where she sang in the choir for many years.
Her hobbies were playing the organ and piano, and mowing the grass. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Franklin and Martha Alice Barlow Melton, and her sister, Bobbie Jo Yambert.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Rayburn Cole Waldrop of Clinton, an employee at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge; her daughters, Martha Lynn Babb of Clinton, Frieda Dale and husband, Kenneth, of Oak Ridge; her grandchildren, Eric Dale of Oak Ridge, Sara Lynn Seeber and husband, Terry, of Clinton, Samuel Jeffrey Babb and wife, Samantha, of Oak Ridge; her great-grandchildren, Katie and Cole Babb of Oak Ridge; her niece, Cynthia McReynolds and husband, David, of Knoxville; and her nephew, Mark Yambert and wife, Deborah, of Knoxville.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton; the Rev. Ed Webber officiated. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
