RENNER - In the Monocacy church, Md., brother Isaac Renner, aged 69 years, 2 months and 21 days. Brother Renner was a member of the German Baptist church over 47 years, and was elected tot he ministry of the Gospel by the above named church, on the 8th of October, 1860, and was by said church advanced to the second degree of the ministry on the 19th of March, 1866, in which degree he served the church faithfully, to the best of his ability until his death. All is well that ends well. Elder Renner had a glorious triumphant end. On Whit Monday, May 17th, he called for the elders and was anointed with oil in the name of the Lord, and from henceforth not a doubt intervened between him and his God, and his prayers and admonitions to, and for his family, were earnest and frequent. His wife, sister Sophia survives him. May the grace of God sustain her, and the prayers of our dying brother be answered in the conversion of his children. His remains were laid to rest in the burying ground at the Rocky Ridge meeting house, and the occasion improved by the Brethren from Luke 10:42 D. P. Sayler
Isaac's grandfather was William Renner (1742-1793) buried at Rocky Hill Cemetery, Woodsboro, MD.
