Daughter of Philip and Anna Geres Meikel, she immigrated with them and her four surviving siblings in 1856 to the Peoria, IL area.

She married Christian Koerner on Dec. 17, 1863 in Peoria. They farmed near Cullom, IL in Livingston Co. April, 1897 they retired and moved into Chenoa, IL. Their 9 children are:

GOOD WOMAN DIES
Mrs. Christian Koerner died at her home in Chenoa on Wednesday of last week.

Cancer of the liver was the cause of death, she having been ill for some time past. Her maiden name was Margaret Michael. She was born in Heppstatten Hessen Honburg, Germany, September 15, 1846, and came to this country with her parents when she was six years old and settled onto a farm near El Paso, where they lived for a number of years.

She was married to Mr. Christian Koerner in Peoria, Peoria County, IL on December 17, 1863. From El Paso, they moved onto a farm five miles southeast of Chenoa. For the past thirteen years they have lived in Chenoa.

She was the mother of nine children, of whom Mrs. Elizabeth Biebes, of near Cullom, was one. She was also a sister of Adam Ellinger, now of Chatsworth. She was highly esteemed by all."
