DEATH OF ROSANA BROOKINS AT MIDDLETOWN
Middletown was again saddened when Mrs. Rosana C. Brookings (sic - Brookins), widow of the late R. M. Brookins, passed to the great beyond at the home of her son, Frank Brookins.
The funeral services held at the methodist church a 1 P. M. with the Rev. G. H. Whiten officiating, wee largely attended by the friends and relatives of the late Mrs Brookins. Following the church services the remains were taken to Lower Lake where interred (sic) in the family lot of the Public Cemetery.
Rosana C. Daily (sic - Dailey) was born in Iowa on April 11, 1846 and was married to the late R. M. Brookins on May 18, 1867. to them were born eleven children, six of them of whom are left to mourn Mrs. Brookins. The Brookins moved to California fifty-two years ago. Later they moved to Lake County where they led a long and useful life.
Mrs. Brookins leaves the following children to mourn her passing. Mrs. Millie Davis and Mortie Brookins of Oakland; Minor Robert Brookins and Mrs. Mary Colton of Winthrop, Shasta County; John Brookins of Hayfork, Shasta County and Frank C. Brookins of this place.

Rosanna Collar Dailey was the daughter of George Pease Dailey and Rebecca Arble. She married Robert Minor Brookins the son of Edward B. Brookins and Emillia "Millie" Mildred Jones on May 18, 1867 in Branden Township, Jackson County, Iowa. They initially made their home in Colusa County, California, and later Lake County, California where they remained until their deaths. They had the following children:
1. Millie Rebecca Brookins Feb.10, 1868 - June 11, 1938 she married Richard "Dixie" Davis.
2. Nancy Catherine "Katie" Brookins April 18, 1869 - June 18, 1870.
3. Edwin B. Brookins March 16, 1871 - Oct 27, 1918 he married Sarah Lucinda Kouns.
4. Mary Ann Brookins Nov. 14, 1873 - Oct. 5, 1957 she married Frank Colton and Franklin A. Bolyard.
5. George Dailey Brookins Feb. 6, 1875 - Oct. 9, 1875.
6. Robert Minor Brookins July 16, 1876 - July 14, 1948 he married Amanda Jane Williamson.
7. Frank Colton Brookins May 18, 1878 Jan. 4, 1935 he married Bertha Rosett Kouns.
8. John Brant Brookins March 20, 1880 - May 8, 1934.
9. Rosa Mae Brookins Feb. 13, 1882 - Oct. 24, 1918 she married George Washington Copsey.
10. William Mortimer "Mortie" Brookins March 29, 1884 - Aug 18, 1969 he married Erma Seamans.
11. Wickersham Frank "Wick" Brookins July 11, 1886 - May 3, 1920 he married Arnie Elizabeth Greer.
