Lou Ann Bailey Grahl, age 100 years, one month and 20 days old, died Monday, December 7, 1992, at Westlake Cumberland Hospital, Columbia, Ky., where she had been admitted Friday, December 4, 1992.

She was born October 17, 1892 in Adair County, Ky., to the late Charles Henry "Charlie" and Martha Susan "Mattie" Conover Bailey.

On June 28, 1914, she married Theodore Phillip "Ted" Grahl in Champaign, Illinois, and to this union four children were born. Mr. and Mrs. Grahl were in the restaurant business in Russell, Taylor and Adair counties from 1924 until 1941. Mr. Grahl, who grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, died December 24, 1966 in Adair County.

Mrs. Grahl was converted at the early age of 15 and joined the Holiness Church in Adair County at age 17. She had been a member of the Freedom Church of God for 83 years where she was the last charter member.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles Raymond and Mary Reese Grahl of Sunman, Indiana; a son, Theodore Russell Grahl of Adair County; a daughter and son-in-law, Ruby Elizabeth and Ralph Arlo Stephens of Adair County; a daughter and son-in-law, Maxie Jane and Carl Eugene Koser of Manheim, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Lawrence Charles "Larry" Grahl of Cincinnati, OH, Donna Mae Grahl Waddell of Fort Mitchell KY, Theodore "Ted" Charles Koser of Newark, Delaware, Donald "Don" Eugene Koser of Lititz, PA, Michael "Mike" Russell Koser of Herdon, VA and Carlene "Dean" Jane Koser Rothenberger of Cochranville, PA; 14 great-grandchildren; one niece, Zilpha Bailey Baker of Mount Victory, KY; one nephew, Charles William Bailey of Florida; 10 first cousins; and a host of relatives.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1992, 1:00 p.m., at Rippetoe Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Carlie Riggs officiating. Special music was on tape by The Grahl Trio, Lou Ann, Ruby and Maxie.

Pallbearers were Russell Grahl, Carl Koser, Theodore Koser, Donald Koser, Michael Koser, and Harold Eugene Atchley.

Interment was in the Freedom Cemetery in Adair County.
