Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Shuler will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2007 in the Rush Chapel, Oakdale – Downtown location. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Ms. Shuler, 78, of Marshall, Texas entered eternal rest on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 in Good Shepard Hospital, Longview, Texas.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her second husband, Curtis Page Barfield and her third husband, Sam "The Stump Man" D. Shuler
Survivors include five sons, Ervin Willis, Sr. of Oakdale, Wayne Barfield of Lafayette, Gerald Barfield of Marshall, Texas, Dean Barfield of Marshall, Texas and David Shuler of Mooresboro, North Carolina; three daughters, Marilyn Toland of Daingerfield, Texas, Janet Wheeler of Auburn, Pennsylvania and Thelma Paige Eldridge of Marshall, Texas; two brothers, Claiborne Coker of Oakdale and Archie Coker of Lafayette; one sister, Willie Mae Ashley of Oakdale; twenty-two grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
