Cpl. Loren M. Buffalo, 20, of Mountain Pine, Ark., died March 9 in Kandahar province of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 75th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky. He is survived by his father, Cecil Buffalo and step-mother, Mary of Mountain Pine; mother, Anjanette Buffalo of Ward; siblings, Legend Beck of Ward, Lane Buffalo, Dalton Wetherington, and Kori Wetherington all of Mountain Pine; paternal grandparents, grandmother and step-grandfather, Gloria Jean and O'Neil Loetscher, step-grandparents, John and Dee Kimmer; maternal grandparents, grandmother and step-grandfather, Judy and Tommy Williams, grandfather and step-grandmother, Donnie and Joyce Lee, grandfather and step-grandmother, Joe and Karen Beck; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Cecil Buffalo, Jr.
