Cameron, Tex., July 9. -- The announcement this morning of the death of Fred A. Graves caused a profound sensation. Mr. Graves was one of Milam County's most prominent men, a farmer and cattle feeder whose farm was a Lilac in this county. He died this morning at his home in Rockdale, a member of the Methodist church and a man foremost in every good work. Galveston Daily News, July 10, 1906

Milam county lost one of her best and most honored citizens in the death of Mr. Fred Graves. He died of congestion and heart failure on Sunday night and was buried in Rockdale Monday, late in the afternoon. Rev. Thomas officiating at the funeral. There was large attendance at his funeral, many going over from Cameron. The Cameron Herald, July 12, 1906
