Gary N. Adair, age 75, of Carleton, Michigan died on Monday, March 7, 2011 in his home. Friends may visit in the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Carleton Chapel on Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday, March 11, 2011 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Waltz, Michigan on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM. He will lie instate from 10 AM until time of service. Rev. Dr. Kurt S. Taylor and Rev. David P. Schmidt will officiate the service. Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park Huron Township, Michigan.
Born on October 22, 1935 in Flat Rock, Michigan, he was the son of John and Bernice (Manor) Adair. On January 12, 1957 he married Norma Winkleman in St. John Lutheran Church, Waltz, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War.
He was a supervisor for DT&I and Grand Trunk /Canadian National Railroad until retiring in 1997.
Gary was an Usher and member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Waltz and a retired Ash Township Volunteer Fireman. He was also a member of the Wolverine Knife Collectors Club, North American Hunt Club, Flat Rock Elks Lodge 1731 and Loyal Order of Moose.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Jacquelin Adair and grandson, Jon Adair.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Adair of Carleton, 2 sons, Larry (Leigh Anne) Adair of Catharpin, VA and Gary Dennis (Sheila) Adair of LaSalle; 2 daughters, Terri (Dan) Pluff of Tipton and Sherri (David) Barton of Carleton, 3 brothers, John Adair of Carleton, David (Fern) Adair of Novi and Gregory Adair of Monroe; sister, Vicky (Jim) Peters of Ash Grove, MO; 10 grandchildren, Danielle Trythall, Jodie VanSickle, Jenni Adair, Bobby Adair, Jill Adair, Kyle Barton, Craig Barton, Paige Adair, Emily Mulvey and Tara Stang; 6 great-grandchildren, Bryson and Kamryn Van Sickle, Jacob and Avarie Trythall, AriOna Mulvey and Akyiah Grace.
Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
