Mrs. L.D. Lucas, Jr., Died Earl Tuesday Hinesville Hospital
Mrs. Ruth Barnard Lucas,21,died early Tuesday morning in the Liberty Memorial Hospital of gun shot wounds suffered Monday.
Sheriff Robert V. Sikes said his investigation showed the wound was self-inflicted. Mrs. Lucas was found in her home near Flemington late Monday afternoon.
Survivors are her husband, Leland D. Lucas Jr., Flemington; a daughter, Dorothy Lee Lucas, Flemington; her mother, Mrs. D.L. Barnard, Ludowici; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Franklin, Reidsville, Mrs. Wallace Evans, Port Wentworth, Mrs. Troy Johns, of Waycross, and two brothers, David Walton and Shelton Barnard, Ludowici.
Funeral services will be held at the Church of God in Glennville at 3 p.m. today (Thursday) with Rev. M.C. Radford and Mrs. Lucille Floyd officiating. Burial will be in the Glennville City Cemetery.
