Orval served in the Army as a captain in Patton's famed 11th Armored Division during WWII. Orval was a graduate of Duke University. About 1937, Orval Parker was employed for a short time as a teller at the State Bank of Kingsville.
Orval married Nellie Virginia Tunnell and together had three children. Their children are John Scott, Richard Bryan and Nancy Dawn Parker Johnson.
After leaving Kingsville, Orval was employed for nearly 30 years by the Mossler Acceptance Corporation as a department head in the finance and insurance divisions. At the time of his death, Orval was working out of the Houston office of the Allen-Parker Company.
At the time of his death, Orval was survived by his wife Nellie, son, John, of Eastley, South Carolina, son, Richard Parker of Houston, and daughter, Nancy Parker Johnson of Houston. Also he left behind his mother Jewell L. Whittenberg Parker, two brothers, Glenn and James and his sister, Evelyn Parker Hess of Corpus Christi.
