ROBERTS -- The memorial service of Ida H. Tornowski, 84, of Roberts, will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 28 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Roberts, the Rev. Grant Christenson officiating. She was cremated. Lamb-Young Funeral Home, Roberts, has charge of arrangements.
She died at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 18, 1998) at Heartland Health Care, Paxton.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, or Roberts Gym Fund.
Mrs. Tornowski was born Jan. 29, 1914, at Roberts, a daughter of Samuel and Ophelia (Ortlepp) Ebert. She married Herman Tornowski on Feb. 18, 1937. He died in October of 1968.
Survivors include one sister Mary Ellington, Charleston; one brother, Reuben Ebert, Ft. Meyers, Fla.; and one sister-in-law, Ann Ebert, Chicago.
Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, four brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Tornowski was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a charter member of Roberts Women's Club and was also a member of the Ford County Historical Society and the Women's ELCA of the church.
