Sharon Laura Adams, age 64, wife of Reverend J. L. Adams of Dublin, GA passed away Sunday, March 06, 2011 after a lengthy battle with autoimmune diseases.

Mrs. Adams was born in Bolivar, Missouri on June 23, 1946 to Anna and Melvin Williamson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Paul Tommy Appleby and a brother, Paul Williamson.

Surviving are her parents, her loving husband, J.L. Adams, daughters, Cindy Appleby Clark (Steve), and Shelly Appleby Ellison (Ron), step-children Nora A. Sapp (Earm), Lewey Adams (Joy), Susan A. Lott (Greg), and Rebekah A. Yawn (Charles). Sharon was blessed with five grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren, and 14 great step-grandchildren; brothers, Steve Williamson (Linda), Jack Williamson (Sue), and a sister, Debra Lemmon (Jack).

Mrs. Adams was a student of the Bible and enjoyed pursuing topical Bible studies. She was proficient in computer technology and made use of the it in her daily life. In her ministries, she lead many womens' Bible study groups in various Baptist churchs' where she was a member. She loved to walk and fellowship with her friends by her side. She loved traveling and visiting historic places and National Parks. Mrs. Adams was an excellent listener and so many women were touched by her ability to listen to them. She was especially admired for her sending notes and letters to people in need of encouragment and would place bookmarks in areas of a book that she felt would minister to that person. She possessed a distinctive handwriting that was admirable. She ministered to others in her everyday life no matter where she was. She also was an accomplished knitter using her skills for the benefit of others. Sharon was also extremely gifted in the art of decorating. In every room she touched, it reflected her inner peace and devotion to the Lord and her family. Mrs. Adams, along with her husband enjoyed the ministry as a part of their lives.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, MO. with Reverend Ron McIntire officiating. Musical selections will be "Amazing Grace" and "El Shaddai". Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Bolivar, Missouri. No visitation is scheduled. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri.
