Agnes Frye Barber Etters, 82, of 9065 Old Sand Hill Rd., Aurora, N.C. passed away at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson N.C. on Thursday, December 17, 2009 after a valiant battle with complications from a catastrophic fall injury.
Mrs. Etters was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Minnie Frye; sons, Billy Etters, Wally Etters, Carlton Ray Barber and John A. Barber; daughters, Sandra B. Parker and Jeanette B. Woodard; brothers, Martin Frye and Joe Tyson; and sister, Winnie Neeley.
Mrs. Etters was a beloved resident of the Small community near Aurora, NC. She was a long time member of White Hill FWB Church where she sang in the choir for many years until failing health and eyesight limited her participation. She was as Godly a woman as you would find on the face of the Earth and was known for, and frequently requested, to lead prayer for the church services. Boy could she pray some beautiful and powerful prayers. She prided herself in the fact that for 27 straight years she read the Bible from in the beginning in Genesis to amen in Revelation, and even in her later years could recite almost any verse in the Bible, verbatim
