Hinesville - Reverend Jossie Columbus Sikes, Sr., 59, died Wednesday, November 17, 2004. Reverend Sikes was the Pastor of Hinesville Church of God for over 12 years, retired truck driver with over 8 years of service with Transus Intermodel, and 12 years of service with the Bryan County Road Department. Reverend Sikes was a retired member of the local 474, of the Operating Engineers and was a US Air Force veteran. Reverend Sikes was an avid hunter, enjoyed playing softball and coached the ladies softball in Bryan County.
His survivors include his beloved wife of 41 years Mrs. Delinor Oliver Sikes of Hinesville; son, Jossie "Bubba" Sikes, Jr., of Hinesville; son and daughter-in-law, David and Shirley Sikes of Maryland; daughter and son-in-law, Shari and Jeffery Polk of Allenhurst; brothers, Lloyd Sikes and Jerry Sikes of Pembroke; seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 18, 2004 and Friday, November 19, 2004 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 20, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Hinesville Church of God in Hinesville, GA. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Northside Cemetery in Pembroke.
