Mrs. Eula Butler Smith, 76, of Hogansville, died July 11, 1998 at Crawford W. Long Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

A funeral was held Monday afternoon, July 13, in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Jim Sanders and the Rev. Carl Jiles officiated. Burial was in Shawdowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange. Pallbearers were Steve Smart, Mark Smart, Joe Adams, Doyle Smith, Bruce Downing and Dwayne Thrash.

Mrs. Smith was born May 4, 1922 in Randolph County, Alabama, daughter of the late Enoch and Pearl Kittle Butler. She lived in Atlanta for a number of years before making her home in Hogansville in 1979 and was the wife of the late Truman Smith. She was the retired owner of Eula's Beauty Salon in Hogansville and was a member of New Beginnings Full Gospel Church in Harrisonville.

Survivors include son, Jerry Smith of Hogansville; sisters, Mrs. Ora Driver of Hogansville, Mrs. Laurine Robinson of LaGrange, Mrs. Judy Smart of Tucker, Mrs. Cassie Bowen of Graham, Alabama and Mrs. Arrie Skinner of Franklin; brothers, Griffin Butler of LaGrange, Denson Butler of Franklin and Travis Butler of Cumming; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
