"Raymond K. Svaleson, 57, Boone, formerly of Fort Dodge, died Sunday at Boone County Hospital. He had undergone heart surgery early this spring.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Schroeder's Funeral Home, Boone. The body is being cremated and interment services will be held at a later date.
Surviving are the widow, Betty; sons: Kenneth, Madrid and Tim, Boone; a daughter , Mrs. Tim Veal, Boone; three grandchildren; his father, Iver M. Svaleson, Fort Dodge; brothers: Richard, Tacoma, Wash; and Edmond, Fort Dodge; a sister, Mrs. Gene Owen, Columbus Ohio, and a step-sister, Mrs. Robert Vedyig, St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Svaleson was born and educated in Fort Dodge. He married Betty Bonner of Webster City in 1939 at which time he was employed at the Gypsum Mills here. Later he worked for the M and St. L Railroad before moving away many years ago. The couple had lived in Boone for some time."
