Betty Jane Albaugh Carbaugh Anderson, 84, a resident of the Golden Living Center, Oil City, formerly of Steffee Blvd., Seneca, died at 5:55 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2007, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca.

Born March 9, 1923, at Walnut Bend, she was the daughter of Elmer E. Albaugh and Harriet Reese Albaugh Rodgers. Her step father was Harry Rodgers.

Mrs. Anderson was a 1940 graduate of Oil City High School and took a secretarial course at the Cleveland Institute of Training. She was employed as a secretary for the County Rationing Board until it dissolved. She then was manager of the Knights Life Insurance Co., now American General. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Free Methodist Church . She was very active in church work, teaching, singing and programming as she accompanied her husband who pastored several churches.

She was married Aug. 6, 1956, to the Rev. Edward Anderson, who survives.

Also surviving are five sons, Dennis E Carbaugh and wife, Judy, of Seneca, William E. Anderson and wife, Patricia, of Clifton Springs, N.Y., Dennis G. Anderson and wife Lorraine, of Churchville, N.Y., Raymond D. Anderson and wife, Deborah, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Robert B. Anderson of Oil City; one daughter, Patricia Kriebel and husband, John, of Highland Heights, Ohio; and 13 grandchildren, Denise and Sheila Carbaugh, Dan Anderson and wife, April, Rich Anderson and wife, Kristen, Katie, Sarah, Kyle and Jackson Anderson, Leah, Andrew, Naomi and Deborah Anderson, and Carolyn Kriebel. She also is survived by one brother, Brayton Rodgers and wife, Lucille; and a daughter-in-law, Dorcas Anderson Meddock and husband,
Ken.

In addition to her parents and stepfather, she was preceded in death by a son, the Rev. David L. Anderson; a sister, Atha Mae Cotherman; and a brother, Elmer E. Albaugh.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Morrison Funeral Home and from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Free Methodist Church of Oil City. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the church with the Rev. George Oglesby officiating, He will be assisted by the Rev. William Hopkins.

Interment will be in Plumer Cemetery.
