Funeral services for Mr. Hollis Qualls, 77, of Rickman, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2000, from the chapel of Rick-man Funeral Home. Burial was in Algood City Cemetery with Rickman Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Qualls, a used car dealer and farmer, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.
Born April 7, 1923, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Charlie and Rebecca Jane (Bilbrey) Qualls. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Hison and Denton Qualls; and two brothers, Willis Qualls and Dayton Qualls.
He served in the Armed Forces during World War II, receiving the EAME Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal World War II, and Good Conduct Medal.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene (Dennis) Qualls, Rickman; a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Steve Sagar, Nashville; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Jerry and Joyce Qualls, David Qualls, all of Rickman, and Allen Qualles, Murfreesboro; a brother and sister-in-law, Hack and Violet Qualls, Cookeville; two sisters, Clara Qualls and Hazel Poteet, Algood; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were John Halsell, Bill Nelson, Bud Easterly, Bill White, Bro. Elmer McCowan, and Delbert Jones.
