MRS. THOMPSON PASSES FRIDAY

Mrs. Mattie Ellington Thompson, 80, wife of the late James L. Thompson died last Friday at 3 o’clock at the home of her daughter Mrs. B. L. Bridges in Thomaston. The body was brought to Shellman Saturday afternoon and funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the First Baptist Church with burial in City cemetery in Shellman. Rev. J. C. Grimes officiated, assisted by Rev. Monk, and Rev. Smith of Shellman.
Mrs. Thompson was born in Upson County and had been a resident of Shellman since December 1904. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Shellman.
She is survived by two sons R. F. Thompson, and J. G. Thompson of Shellman and four daughters Mrs. Annie Byrd McLeod of Shellman, Mrs. B. L. Bridges, Mrs. W. H. Trice, and Mrs. A. F. Eidson of Thomaston and numerous grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother Rastus Ellington of Thomaston.
The pallbearers were grandsons, R. E. Thompson, Jr, J. S. McLeod, Jr, W. Albert Thompson, James Bridges, Benjamin Bridges, and Frank Eidson.

Stephens Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Mattie's name was Mary Ann Comachia Ellington Thompson, she was known as Mattie.
