"In 1885(sic), Sequoyah's widow (Mrs. George Guess)sold the house and the set of house logs to Mr. George Blair, a Cherokee Indian, the father of Mr. Thomas Blair. The elder Mr. Blair took the set of house logs and built another cabin adjoining the original house, with a stack chimney between and this double log house stands now as it was when Mr. Blair finished his addition. Mr. Blair died in 1887 at the age of 98 years and is buried in a little cemetery only a few yards from this house."
George & Nancy were parents of Thomas Blair (buried here) who inherited the old Sequoyah property; Elizabeth (J.Lowrey); and Margaret Blair(marr.O.Martin Benge,Sr.)
