1918 - 2011

May Swerver, 92, died on Feb. 20, 2011 in Tigard, Ore.

She was born on May 14, 1918 in Macksburg, Ore. to Peter and Gladys (Prink) Kister.

She married Louis Babcock in 1937 and he died in 1974. She married Harry Swerver in 1975 and he died in 1991.

May was a longtime resident of the Molalla area and was active as a 4-H leader for 12 years, plus County Extension clubs. She also did specialized sewing and arts and crafts.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Richard Jenkins; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Judie Babcock, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

A service was held Saturday, Feb. 26 at Molalla Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Vic Dunton officiated. She was buried at Adams Cemetery in Molalla. Arrangements were handled by Molalla Funeral Chapel.
