MARGARET E. MCCOLLUM
---Margaret E. McCollum was born in Scott County, Virginia January 1, 1854 and died August 17, 1928 at her home in Gorin, Missouri, being at the time of her death seventy-four years, seven months and sixteen days old. She came with her parents to Illinois early in her life and settled near Carthage.
---On December 15, 1874 she united in marriage to I.S. McCollum. To this union three children were born, namely Effie, Abbie and Rolla. Effie died in infancy.
---In the year 1883, Mr. and Mrs. McCollum came to Missouri and have resided in this state ever since.
---Mrs. McCollum was a member of the Gorin Methodist Church and was a regular attendant when her health permitted.
---She was a charter member of the Gorin chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and was and active member until her health failed.
---She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, I.S. McCollum, one daughter, Mrs. Rolla Fairbrother of Quincy, Illinois, one son, Rolla McCollum of Trenton, Missouri; one sister, Mrs. Addie Gridley of Oakley, Kansas; four grandchildren and other relatives and a great number of friends.
---Funeral services were held in Gorin Sunday morning and the Eastern Star funeral were given by the chapter to which she belonged. The remains were taken to La Plata for burial.
