John Kincaid became one of the wealthiest men in Campbell County, Tennessee. A great Land owner, slave owner, and an ardent Confederate Sympathizer. He was assassinated by two of his own foremen who were paid by Union officers the sum of $3,000.00. Six of his sons were in the Confederate Army.
