He appears to died in the the battle of Shiloh of from wounds received that first day. The battle was fought fom April 6–7th, 1862 in western Tennessee. The CSA lost over 1700 men in this battle and over 10,500 were wounded. He is believed to he buried there.
A find a grave member reported being unable to locate this grave:
"Per review by a National Park Ranger at the Vistor's Center, they have no record of this person being buried at the cemetery nor any record showing that he might have died on the battlefield & was buried in an unmarked grave. They do have 5 CSA burial trenches on the battlefield but the office has no records for these."
