Died: 1886-1900.
Buried: Ivey Cemetery, Williamsburg County, SC, in an unmarked grave.

Thomas Flovius Fulton died before the 1900 census was enumerated. His wife was then listed as a widow. He is believed to have died about 1886, the year his youngest child, James Madison Fulton, my grandfather, was born.

Thomas Flovius Fulton's father, Samuel W. Fulton, was born about 1825 probably in/on Beaver Island, Stokes County, NC; his mother was Eleanor Johnson or Johnston, born probably in Georgetown County, SC. In 1850, Samuel W. was still at Beaver Island. In 1860, he was in Guilford County, NC, with his wife and seven children. By 1870 he had moved his family to the Big Dam Swamp community of Georgetown County, SC. The 1870 census suggests that he entered South Carolina from Robeson County, NC.

Samuel W. Fulton's father was Samuel Fulton, c. 1792 - 1872. His mother was Nancy Redman Fulton, c. 1798 - 1841. The elder Samuel owned a tobacco plantation and manufacturing facility in Stokes County. Descendants suspect he is buried there in a family cemetery, but his grave is not known to be marked.

In 1933 Thomas Flovius's widow, Susan Rebecca Waldron Fulton, was buried beside his grave in Ivey Cemetery, as near as the family could remember its location.
