RALEIGH -- Margaret McInturff, 79, of Raleigh died Monday, February 21, 2011, surrounded by her family.
Margaret was born January 23, 1932 in Bluefield, WV to Zanie and Robert Mahood. She was a graduate of Bluefield College and was employed as a Registered Medical Technologist. Later in life, she was a floral designer and wedding director. She was an active member of St. Philp Lutheran Church for more than 40 years.
Always, 'Mama Mac' was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Arthur Ramey McInturff, Jr., the love of her life since fourth grade.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheri Strickland and her husband, Kirby of Harrisburg, NC; Leslie Shuff and her husband, Doug of Concord; son, Arthur Ramey McInturff III and his wife, Rebecca of Matthews; four grandchildren, Patrick; Joseph and Mary-Faith Strickland; and Tiffany Morris; and one great-grandchild, Desiree Hall.
A funeral service will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2011 at St. Philip Lutheran Church, 7304 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh, NC 27615. The family will receive friends 2:00-3:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service on Monday, February 28, 2011 at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Bluefield, WV.
The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff at The Oaks at Town Center, Harrisburg, NC; and Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County.
