Soldier of the Revolution

William Campbell was born in Voluntown, Conn, Mar 1 1726 (VRs). (note error in his age on the gravestone). He married Sarah Barnes, daughter of James Barnes. They were married at Leicester, Massachusetts Oct 14, 1752 (VRs).

William Campbell served with the Mass Troops during the Revolutionary War. Near 1786, he and his family removed to the town of South Hero. On Sept 2 1788, he too the Freeman's Oath at South Hero. William and his family what was know as Lot 67, north end of the present "Kibbe Point". (Originally this point was known as Campbell Point).

William and Sarah had six children.
