Survivors include his wife, Francis Alberta; a son, Victor Darrell Akers and wife Judy of Marion; two brothers, Eldon and Jerry, both of Central City; a granddaughter, Victoria Akers; and three great-grandchildren, Alex, Jesse and Emily Akers.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, nine brothers and two sisters.
Victor was born Sep 4, 1912, the son of Jeremiah and Vinnie Shephard Akers, in Morse, IA.
On March 21, 1939, he was united in marriage to Frances Albert McCann in Marion.
Victor farmed for many years, retiring in 1987.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
