Mrs. Viola P. Creager, 77, of 303 Eden Ave., widow of James W. Creager, died at 1:20 p.m Friday, July 13, in the Waynesboro Hospital. She had been in failing health for several years and was critically ill and confined to the hospital since suffering a stroke on June 24.
Born in Washington Township on Feb. 20, 1907, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Emma
Jane (Peters) Cool. Her early life was lived in Quincy.
As a young woman she worked in several local restaurants and at the W T Grant Store. During World
War II she was employed in the foundry at Landis Tool Co.
She and her husband were married in July, 1947, and moved to the present residence six years ago.
Her husband died in May 1983. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Surviving are two children from a previous marriage, John W. Erdenbrack Sr. and Mrs. Jean E. Mentzer, both of Waynesboro. Also surviving are six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren , and these brothers and sisters; Charles W. Cool, Funkstown, Md. and Mrs. Jane Ingram. Mark L. Cool, Mrs. Roberta Benjamin, Harper P. Cool,
O. Ray Cool and Mrs. Ann Ferguson, all of Waynesboro.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m in the Grove Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul Curfman officiating. Burial will be in Mt Zion Cemetery.
