Chico Weekly Chronicle-Record, Saturday, December 15, 1894, pg 3 col 4: John W. Hamrick. The subject of this brief notice died yesterday morning at 9:45 at the Goodspeed place on the Pratt Grant. The immediate cause of his death is believed to have been congestion of the liver, though the deceased had for a number of years been a sufferer from Brights disease. John W. Hamrick came to California from Missouri in 1863 and has since resided here. He leaves a family of seven boys and two girls, all of whom are grown. The funeral will take place at two o’clock this afternoon, Rev. J.F. Tout conducting the services at the grave.
