Wife of Mathias Demmer, Sr., she and her husband resided for many years at Herndon, Kansas which is where most of their children were born.

By 1895, they had come to Medford, and settled in Jackson County, Oregon. They were enumerated in that county on the 1900, 1910, and 1920 census.

Sophia's husband died there in May of 1929, and on November 19th she was appointed executrix of his estate.

She lived in Medford at 823 Sherman Avenue, and appears in numerous city directories up until the year of her death.
