Warren Jefferson Gaddis, 4th child of John and Elizabeth (Connally) Gaddis was born according to Pension Records, 31 Dec 1805 Jackson Co., Ga. d. 22 May 1877 Marthaville, La. There is discrepancy about his birth because his tomb record states 31 Dec 1802. Since War Gaddis made application for his Pension, it stands to reason he knew his age better than those who made the tomb record. He is buried in a small cemetery, in a secluded area in Sabine Parish, about 3 miles south of Pleasant Hill, La. There are two large tombstones belonging to W. J. Gaddis and his son, Thomas F. Gaddis.
Our first mention of War was found in the Minutes of the Inferior Court, County Purposes 1820-1832 Gwinnett Co., Ga., June Term 1825, p. 96. The case is Murdock Martin vs. War Gaddis, which was settled at mutual cost. So, at the age of 20 we know he was in Gwinnett Co., Ga. The following year at age 21 War had met and asked Marian Lloyd to become his wife. There are two conflicting reports from family history stating the Father of Marian Lloyd. Susan's 1st marriage was to John Ellzey Welborn by whom she had 1 child, Callie Welborn.

James Merchant Bryant was b. 22 June 1843 - d. 22 Apr. 1923. Both he and Susan (Mayfield) Bryant are buried at Liberty Ditch Cemetery in Smith Co. on Hwy 37 between Raleigh and Taylorsville, Miss. Jim Bryant was the clerk of the Smith Co. Baptist Assn. from 1888-1907 and he was the Circuit Clerk of Smith Co. for 2 terms ranging from 1908-1915. Susan (Welborn) and Jim Bryant had no children.
