In a neighborhood bar in Covington well-stocked with regulars, Linda Adams Jett was among the most familiar of faces.
The co-owner of Hegge's Cafe, 933 Main St., Ms. Jett, 54, of Independence, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit in Covington.
Ms. Jett was diagnosed with lung cancer about eight weeks ago, said her husband, Tim Jett.
The Jetts bought Hegge's in 1993, he said. A former cashier who rang up sales for others for many years, Ms. Jett found a lot more satisfaction in working the cash register as an owner, her husband said.
''She loved every bit of the bar and got involved with everything,'' he said. ''It's a hard job, but she loved every minute of it.''
True to her name, Mrs. Jett loved to travel and visited Hawaii, Mexico, the Bahamas and Florida, her husband said. She also enjoyed shopping and sight-seeing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Diane Britton and Stacy Baughn, both of Covington; sons, Tom Britton and Frank Britton, both of Erlanger, Chris Jett of Crescent Springs and Sean Jett of Florence; a sister, Connie McConnel of Newport; and 20 grandchildren. A sister, Diane Ewing, of Florence, died last year.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Visitati on will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit.
