"Mrs. Ida Anna Mae Nichols, widow of the late Peter S. Nichols, died at the home of her son, Dick Nichols in Center at 1:30 o'clock Sunday morning, March 22, after a brief illness of heart disease lasting three days. She was aged 74 years, 6 months and 2 days at her demise. The eldest daughter of a family of five children of the late John and Eliza Collins, she was born in Boone county, Kentucky, September 20, 1868, moving to Missouri with her parents early in life. She united with Oakland Baptist church in Ralls county 45 years ago and remained a constant member until her death. She was united in marriage October 14, 1885, to Peter S. Nichols, who with four children preceded her in death. She is survived by eight children, Mrs. Ada Davidson of West Terre Haute, Ind., Mrs. Nettie Hendrix of Moline, Ill., Oliver Nichols of Roseville, Calif., Julia Taylor of Perry, Mrs. Mary Taylor of Overton, Mrs. Pearl Schmidt, John Nichols, and Richard Nichols, all of Center, 4 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, also two brothers, one sister, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the Hulse funeral home, conducted by Rev. F.W. Riggs, pastor of the Methodist church. The body was conveyed by motor hearse to Argyle, Osage county, for interment beside her deceased husband."
