MANHATTAN – Ruth M. Gaden, 83, Manhattan, died Thursday, March 2, 1995, at a Manhattan hospital. She was born April 5, 1911, in Chapman, the daughter of William and Anna Nicholson Hannan. Mrs. Gaden was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, the Altar Society and Seven Dolors Church Circle No. 2. She also was a member of St. Mary Auxiliary and the American Association of Retired Persons. She was married to William H. Gaden on May 4, 1928, in Manhattan. He survives. Other survivors include a brother, A.A.Hannan, Pratt; and four foster grandchildren. Mrs. Gaden was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty M. Koppenheffer, in 1968, and two foster children, Dean E. Rogers and Mary Ellen Rogers Richter. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery, Manhattan. A vigil service where a rosary will be recited will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Edwards-Yorgensen-Meloan Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Homecare and Hospice Inc. or to the American Heart Association and sent in care of the funeral home.
