Frona Litton Burke, 70, passed away Sunday, May 20, in Knoxville Hospital following an extended illness. She was a life long resident of Scott County. A member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors: Husband, Mitchell Burke; 5 sons, Walter Burke, Benham, Ky., George Burke, Detroit, Mich., Willie Burke, London, Ky., Kenneth Burke, Cincinnati and Keith Burke, Oneida; 3 daughters, Mrs. Hazel Phelps, Cincinnati, Mrs. Ilene Hollifield, Memphis, Tennessee and Mrs. Eva Terry, Oneida; 4 sisters, Mrs. Ethel Troxel, Glendale, Oregon, Mrs. Elizabeth Burke, Mrs. Poppie Smith, Oneida, Amanda Marcum,Oklahoma.
17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Opossum Rock Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Blevins, Rev. J.S. Garrett officiating. Interment in the Church Cemetery. West in charge. [Source:Scott County News, May 24, 1962]

She was the daughter of George Washington and Emily Terry Litton. She married Mitchel Asbury Burk on December 31, 1908 at the TN-KY State Line.
