A retired farmer, he was a World War I Veteran and had lived in Young County since 1913. He had lived in the Proffitt Community before moving to Olney, Texas.

Survived by his wife; two sons - Eldon Kee and Elroy Kee; three daughters - Mrs. Jerene Cates, Mrs. Fay Dell Bruton, Mrs. Tommie Lee Brotherton; three sisters and five brothers including John and Joe Key.
