Raised with his family on Hogeland Creek, west of Hayden, Al. Later owned many acres of land in the Oak Grove Community near Bangor. He was also a blacksmith. Married Jane Whaley. After the death of his father, Abraham, he adopted his father's two youngest children.
It is not known where William and Jane are buried. It is probably Oak Grove Cemetery in unmarked graves. Many of his descendants are buried there, and his land adjoined the cemetery.
