MARGARET KAISER DEAD - Mrs. Margaret Kaiser widow of the late Hy. Kaiser died in her home last Friday about 3 p.m. The Kaiser home is situated along the Maries on the south of the Vienna and St. Thomas road. Mrs. Kaiser was sick only a few weeks and her case was not considered serious except by those who watched her closely.

Margaret Kaiser (nee Plassmeyer) was born July 30th 1848 in Mastolte, Rittberg, Westphalia, Germany. At about the age of 11 years she came to this country with her parents who then settled near Westphalia Osage Co, Mo. In 1879 (April 22) Margaret Plassmeyer joined hands for life with Mr. Hy. Kaiser. The marriage was performed in the parish Church of this place by the then Rector Rev. H.A. Hukestein, now of St. Louis. The Kaisers rented the Crismon place for one year and the following year 1880 bought the same place and lived on it till death.

Two children were born to the Kaisers. The first child a girl died in infancy. The other, Caspar Kaiser survives his mother and lived with her to her death. Deceased's husband died June 15th 1905. Her father, Caspar Plassmeyer died Feb 4th 1909; her mother died some 15 years ago. Other surviving relatives are two sisters; viz. Mesdames Frank (Gertrude) Horstdaniel, of Westphalia, and Bernard (Christine) Loehner, of Koeltztown; one brother, Herman Plassmeyer, of Koeltztown.

Mrs. Kaiser was troubled with a chronic headache affliction for a long time but this malady ceased to trouble her in the last part of her life. A complication of internal troubles seems to have brought about the fatal turn but the patient seemed to suffer little or none as she complained only of a slight pain in her side. Her consciouness remained to the last and she practically fell asleep in death. The funeral service took place at 12 noon on Sunday in the parish church. The time for the obsequies was changed to an hour earlier yet a very large attendance witnessed the last rights over the remains. For Mrs. Kaiser was held in the highest esteem by all who had the good fortune to know her.

She was of intelligent and refined qualities; unassuming and kind to a marked degree. Her loyalty to her faith was of an edifying quality. Her life was an example for the community. May she rest in peace. We extend expressions of condolence especially to the grief-stricken son who feels the loss of his mother mostly, and to the little Catherine who will only in time be able to realize the loss of her adopted mother.
