Born c.1685 to Matthew Williams and his wife, the former Ruth Wheeler, Jemima Harrison died her 73rd year. She was the wife of Samuel Harrison, Esq. (As is often seen in colonial era lettering, "Esq" is inscribed here with an f-like S.) Made of brown sandstone quarried from the Passaic River, Mrs. Harrison's gravestone is one of several in the churchyard made by a craftsman known only as the "Roman Haircut Carver". His work features crudely carved but exceptionally sculptural soul effigies which are further distinguished by swept-forward hair in a style reminiscent of the Caesars.
