Born Benjamin Franklin Francis; he did not like his first name and said his full name was Franklin Francis.
Son of Columbus Marshall Francis and Evaline (King) Francis.
He married Berta Lee Huddleston 25/Dec/1916 in Rover, Oregon Co., MO.
Father of Freda, Floyd, Charlene, Modena, J.R., R.C., Thelma, Evelyn, Wanda, Frank 'Pete', and Duane.
He hewed railroad ties and had dairy cows.

Franklin Francis, of rural West Plains, died last Monday in West Plains Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for only a few hours. He had apparently suffered two severe heart attacks at his home.
He was born in Howell County June 22, 1895, the son of the late Columbus M. and Evelyn (s/b Evaline) King Francis. He was a lifelong resident of Howell County.
On December 25, 1916 he was married, in Oregon County, to Berta L. Huddleston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Huddleston.
He had been a member of Pentecostal Church for many years, with present membership in Victoria Mission Church at Cull, Mo.
Surviving, beside his wife, Berta of the home, are ten children, Freda May Clark of Elmira, Oregon; Floyd Francis of West Plains, Mo.; Charlene Parent of West Plains, Mo.; Modena Rose of Bates City, Mo.; Roy Francis of Springfield, Mo.; Thelma Russell of Koshkonong, Mo.; Evelyn Thomson of Independence, Mo.; Wanda Jackson of Wichita, Kans.; Franklin Francis of Independence, Mo.; and Duane Francis of Independence, Mo.; 31 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five sisters, Savannah Redburn of West Plains; Mary Watson of West Plains; Mattie House of Kuna, Idaho; Fannie Harper of Kokomo, Ind.; and Rhoda Matney of Rector, Ark.; and one brother, Troy Francis of West Plains.
Funeral services were Friday in the Rose Chapel of Robertson Funeral Home, with Reverend Owen Raney and Harold Essary officiating. Burial was in Francis Cemetery at Cull, MO; under the direction of Robertson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Cecil Redburn, Calvin Redburn, John Summers, Jeff Highfill, Wendell Francis, and John Ryan.
Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Willard, Roy Squires, Connie Pickett, Sanford Trantham, Charles Squires, and James Bale.
