Polly Ellen Seitz, 88, passed away at Valley Nursing Home on Thursday Morning, December 5, 2002. After a prolonged illness.

Polly was born on July 27, 1914 in Helena MT, the second child of 7 children of Louis K. and Gretchen (Fiske) Pool. She lived in Helena, Townsend, Missoula and Great Falls and since 1931 in Billings. She was a graduate of Billings High School in 1932 and then completed stenographic and bookkeeping courses at the A.W. Johnston School of Business in Billings. In the early years, Polly worked for the U.S. Forest Service until 1936 when she married her high school sweetheart, Ed J. Seitz. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on November 21st of this year. To this union were born six children, E. Andy (Holly) Seitz of rural Broadview, Montana, Gini S. (Don) Jones of Billings, Tony J. (Kathy) Seitz of Grand Island, Nebraska, Robert W. (Susan) Seitz of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Richard T. (Mary) Seitz of Helena, MT and Fritz C. Seitz of Great Falls, Montana.

For many years, they spent winter vacations traveling in Mexico and in 1997, Polly and Ed celebrated the 61st anniversary with a second honeymoon on the Princess cruise ship through the Panama Canal. Throughout all of their married life they remained very much in love with each other and in life in general. Polly had 25 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Her parents, two sisters Martha Brass and Katherine Swartz, preceded Polly in death. She is survived by her husband Ed, all six children, two brothers, Louis F. Pool of caneseraga, New York and James K. Pool of Helena, Montana and two sisters, Eleanora H. Olson of Boise, Idaho and Jean F. Krest of Georgetown, Texas and most of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Church until 1993 when they moved to their home in West Park Retirement Village at 2351 Solomon Ave. at which time they joined St. Thomas the Apostle Church.

A memorial mass will be offered at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 10, 2002, at St Thomas the Apostle, 2210 Colton Blvd. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Big Sky Hospice, PO Box 35033, Billings, MT 59107, Friends of Orphans, PO Box 25507, Tempe, AZ, or to a charity of one's choice.
