Dorothea (LeCain) Foster, 71, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, died Thursday, March 7, 1991. She was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on January 10, 1920, the daughter of Mary Agnes (McGrath) and John Henry LeCain, Sr.

Dorothea graduated from Cambridge City Hospital Nursing School, entered the U.S. Army Nursing Corps, and served overseas during WWII with the 32nd station Hospital in Africa and Italy. She was decorated with two Battle Stars for Combat Nursing. After overseas duty, she was assigned to Brans General Hospital in Santa Fe from 1943 to 1945.

She had an avid interest in contract bridge, being an active member of the Duke City Bridge Center. She attended many out-of-town tournaments and in 1984 became a life master of the American Contract Bridge League.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Turnbull Foster, Lt. Col. U.S. Army Retired, of Albuquerque; two daughters, Patricia Marie Daniels and husband, James of Kalamazoo, MI; and Susan Dorothea Britt and husband, Kenneth of Carlsbad; two sons, Robert Turnbull Foster II and wife, Martha of Morrison, CO; and John Frederick Foster and wife, Jean of Los Alamos; six grandchildren: James LeCain Daniels, Michael Ian Daniels, Lucas Justin Daniels, all of Kalamazoo, MI; Jennifer Jean Foster, Joseph Robert Foster, both of Los Alamos; and Andrea Jane Britt of Carlsbad.
