Former Charlottean Dies in Asheville. Funeral Here.
Mrs. Jane Yandle, a former resident of this city, died Wednesday night at 10:40 o'clock in Asheville at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. R. Baugham, with whom she had resided for about three years.
Some days ago Mrs. Yandle's sons, Mr. Baxter Yandle and Mr. John Yandle, and her daughter, Mrs. Amanda McClellan of this city went to her bedside and they were with her at the end.
The funeral party left Asheville for Charlotte yesterday afternoon and were expected on the Statesville train last night, but missed connection at Statesville. They are expected to arrive this morning at 4:20 by way of Salisbury. The body will be taken to the residence of Mrs. McClellan at 307 Elizabeth avenue. The funeral will be conducted from there this morning at 10:30 o'clock by Rev. R. E. Hough, pastor of Knox Presbyterian Church. The pallbearers will be Messrs. C. L. Kenley, L. W. Austin, J. Clyde Stancill, W. F. Boyte, C. S. Howie, James H. Ross, R. M. Ranson and W. L. Austin. Interment will be at Elmwood.
Mrs. Yandle was 76 years old. She was the widow of Adam Yandle, who was a well-known and esteemed citizen of the county. Mrs. Yandle was throughout her life a constant Christian and a loyal member of the Presbyterian Church. She was sweet-spirited and generous of nature and devoted to her family and friends who in turn cherished her with genuine affection. The news of her death brings sadness to all who knew her, and she will be much missed.
