Services for ROSE ERDIE ARRINGTON DORMAN, 98, of Gilmer will be held at Williams Funeral Home in Garland at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, Bro. Earl Little officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas beside her husband, Homer Lee Dorman, Sr who died in 1979 & her son, Homer Lee Dorman, Jr who died in 1979.

Rose was born October 5, 1900 to James Monroe Arrington & Lou Cynthia Farley Arrington in Emory, Texas. She was one of a family of 12 children ; Monroe Jackson, Noel Newman, Urel Sidney, Raymond "Dutch", Chester Arthur, Gertie Ladina Prather, Pallie May Smith, Willie Maud Rice, Cynthia Hanes Horton, Adren Andrew & James, Jr., all of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters; Loyse Berniece Whisman of Dallas, Erdie Glynella Schaffner of Byers & Marjorie Laverne Harris of Gilmer ; 16 grandchildren ; 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Rose taught elementary school until her retirement after which she kept busy herself with nurturing grandchildren & other relatives. She will be remembered fondly by a host of these grandchildren as the "Granny" who always cared & knew how to help them. She was a member of Miller Road Baptist Church in Garland & Longview Baptist Temple since 1981.
